I wish to know if Santa's elves are the elves that are in the Whimsmoore stories? Christian, age 7, Weston, FL

Gus: Christian, thank you for your question. We, in fact, are cousins to Santa's elves. Every once in a while we go visit them, but not during their busiest season, of course. Perhaps we'll ask Aunt Linda to write a book about one of our visits someday.

I want to know if the elves made the pretty vests that I got? Bella, age 5, Weston, FL
Gus: Bella, we are so glad you like your Patriotic Vests. And thanks so much for sending your picture! We had fun observing the Untited States' Fourth of July celebrations. They inspired us to make something that would help you show your patriotic spirit. All of the elves help with the Elf Toy of the Month. Thimble, being our tailor, is the one who designed this one.


You say the elves are from Glimmer Glen. What and where is Glimmer Glen? Lila, age 7, Cincinnati, OH

Gus: Glimmer Glen is our home in the forest. It’s a lovely place and we elves dearly love it.

Have the elves ever played any tricks on you? Taylor, age 5, Woodland, WA
Aunt Linda: Oh my, yes. They’ve written me notes telling me I should make my bed and once, they hid all the shoes for my right foot!

Please tell me what a “gathersome,” and a “gatherall” are. Darius, age 5, Albuquerque, NM
Gus: We elves of Glimmer Glen are a gathersome … that’s a group of elves living together as a kind of family. A gatherall is when several groups gather together.
